 Trinidad. On a site with a dramatic ocean view, a seating area/gathering place is centered between the main house and the guest house.

Eureka. A vibrant tapestry of colorful, fragrant plants offers a succession of seasonal delights.

Arcata.  A dry streambed curves down the slope through colorful flowers and foliage.

Fortuna. This homeowner wanted a more relaxed front yard to replace a lawn and stiffly-sheared shrubs.  A small entry garden near the front door features a Japanese Maple and woodland plants.

Fortuna. In the back yard of the same residence, a spiral garden and an exuberant bed of shade plants.

Trinidad. An understated planting complements the colors and strong lines of the house.  At the side of the house, a green path beckons to the back yard.
