Donna Wildearth, Landscape Designer

I am passionate about plants and about the design process. I have 30+ years of gardening experience, and a strong design background in a number of fields in addition to landscape design. Three of my original handwoven pieces appeared in Handwoven magazine, and a passive solar house I designed was featured in the Aug/Sept 1997 issue of Home Power magazine.
I have been designing landscapes professionally in Humboldt County for sixteen years, with satisfied clients in:
  • Eureka
  • Arcata
  • Fortuna
  • Ferndale
  • McKinleyville
  • Trinidad
Four landscapes I designed have been featured on local garden tours. “Landscape Artistry,” a photographic exhibit of several of my designs, was part of Arts Alive! in Eureka in 2005. I have taught Landscape Design and Landscape Plant Identification; I am a board member of Keep Eureka Beautiful; and I volunteer for the Humboldt Botanical Gardens Foundation and the local chapter of the California Native Plant Society.

I enjoy collaborating with homeowners, and I take pride in creating custom landscape designs that are responsive to the site and to each client’s needs and interests. Though I work in a number of different landscape styles, my goal is always the same: to design landscapes with four-season interest that are both beautiful and functional.

Eureka ~ Before. Corner lot with a typical lawn and overgrown foundation plantings.

Eureka ~ After. The landscape is now a vibrant tapestry of colorful, fragrant plants, offering a succession of seasonal delights.
